July 20, 2026, one person was killed following a work accident at an oil and gas site located off County Road 324.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration released a preliminary summary about the accident. It appears to happen a few miles southeast of Freer at a site located south of County Road 324.
Right now, circumstances surrounding the accident are unavailable. The OSHA report lists the incident as related to “Support Activities for Oil and Gas Operations.” The cause of the accident is unclear. The worker has not yet been identified.
