Abilene, TX — June 21, 2024, Gary Isenberg was injured following a car accident that happened around 9:30 p.m. along Loop 322.
According to information from officials, the incident took place in the area of Loop 322 and Oldham Lane.
Initial details released about the accident say that 57-year-old Gary Lee Isenberg was in a GMC Sierra going westbound along the loop. For reasons unclear, the vehicle ended up crashing into the barrier along the side of the highway. Isenberg was seriously injured as a result. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident.

It might surprise people to see how often authorities move on to other responsibilities before actually getting all of the facts. More thorough accident reconstructionists will seek to answer all kinds of questions. Are there issues with the road design here? Is there missing lighting or signage? Did the vehicle experience mechanical issues? Did seatbelts and airbags function as expected?
Likely or not, these things happen. But if investigators don’t look past more common possibilities like fatigue or distracted driving, they can miss these details and end up blaming a victim for factors they may not have had control over.
