Gary Graber Killed in Police Car Accident in Baytown, TX

Baytown, TX — December 14, 2025, Gary Graber was killed as the result of a police car accident at around 1:30 a.m. along Highway 146.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash occurred in the area of Port Road.

Investigators said that 27-year-old Gary Lane Graber was outside of a vehicle along Highway 146 which reportedly stopped due to an oil leak. While there, a Baytown PD cruiser crashed into Gary Graber. Due to the collision, Gary Graber was killed.

I get calls about accidents involving police, and the common concern I hear is that people are skeptical about authorities “investigating their own.” In my experience, simply being up front with all concerns and questions is a good way to gauge whether or not there needs to be an outside opinion. If it seems authorities can clear up all concerns, it’s generally a sign they’re putting bias aside and letting the facts speak for themselves. But anytime victims or families feel that details aren’t adding up, it’s entirely reasonable they’d look for another pair of eyes to look things over, even if it’s just out of an abundance of caution.
