Guadalupe County, TX — January 23, 2024, Garrett Heath Hartung was injured in a single-car accident shortly before 8:15 p.m. along Still Meadow Road.
According to reports, 28-year-old Garrett Heath Hartung was traveling in a southbound Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck along Still Meadow Road a little less than a quarter of a mile south of Quail Run when the accident occurred.
The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been rainy, foggy, and wet. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the pickup truck failed to safely navigate a curve in the roadway. It reportedly veered left, crossing over the center line and the northbound lane before leaving the roadway completely. It allegedly came to a stop after collided with a tree and a metal fence post.
Hartung—who had been the sole occupant of the vehicle—incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.
