How Did This Accident Occur?

Most people think that a traffic citation means the Honda driver is at fault in this crash. That is not necessarily the case. What if his car had a mechanical issue that affected it brakes or steering? What if the driver had a medical emergency? What if the police just got it wrong? The citation is one officer’s opinion about what happened, not the final word on this crash.

Authorities can gather evidence from the scene, data from the vehicles and any available video footage, but most of the time they don’t have the expertise to determine if a mechanical defect or medical issue contributed to this crash. That requires a qualified expert, but if that is what it takes to get to the bottom of what caused this accident, isn’t it worth it? The injured biker and his family deserve to know what happened at this intersection.
