Accident Report
Spring, TX — March 29, 2026, Francisco Hernandez was killed and Salvador Patino was injured in a car accident at about 10:15 p.m. in the 16400 block of Stuebner Airline Road.
Authorities said a northbound 2000 Honda Accord allegedly failed to yield while turning left onto Lyons School Road, colliding with a southbound 2025 Yamaha YZF motorcycle.
A backseat passenger in the Honda, Francisco Jolomna Hernandez, died at the scene of the crash, according to authorities. The driver and another passenger were not injured.
Motorcyclist Salvador Patino was hospitalized unspecified injuries after the crash, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Harris County crash at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
How Did This Accident Occur?
At this point, police are saying that the Honda driver failed to yield, but what if they got it wrong? That doesn’t happen often, but the ongoing investigation will yield facts to prove or refute the conclusions reached by the first officers on the scene.
That will mean poring over witness statements, evidence from the scene, data from the vehicles and any available traffic or dashcam footage. An outside investigator may need to be brought in if there’s any indication that a mechanical problem with either vehicle may have contributed to this crash. Police typically don’t have the time or training for such probes, in my experience.
