How Did This Accident Occur?

Initial reports about this crash do not indicate what caused this SUV to leave the road. Was the driver distracted or fatigued? Did he swerve to avoid an object in the road? Did the Ford have an issue with its steering mechanism? The best way to answer these questions, in my experience, is to wait until the investigation is complete before coming to any conclusions.

Authorities likely will work to piece together what happened on Blanchette Boulevard by going over physical evidence, witness statements, data from the SUV and any available video footage of the crash. Cell phone records could show what the driver was doing at the time, but an outside expert likely will need to inspect the Ford if investigators suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this crash. A forensic examination of the SUV, if warranted, should be done by a qualified expert in a laboratory setting.

A thorough investigation should present the Ford driver’s family with a clear view of how this accident unfolded.
