Houston, TX — October 25, 2024, Francisco Gallegos was killed and one person was injured due to a car accident at around 3:10 a.m. along Eastex Freeway.
Preliminary details released by authorities indicate that the accident happened along the southbound lanes of U.S. 59.
It appears that 66-year-old Francisco Gallegos was in a Ford Explorer that was traveling along the interstate. While doing so, it’s said a Nissan Versa crashed into Gallegos, which then caused the Ford to overturn along the median. A pickup then crashed into Gallegos’s Ford.
As a result of the collision, Gallegos was killed. One person from the pickup had reportedly non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. Authorities did not report any charges or citations.

There isn’t much information here, and I can only hope that’s not a sign authorities are being too shallow in their investigations. Sometimes, authorities will be too quick to move on, and it can leave a victim’s loved ones with incomplete information at a time when they most need answers.
That’s why it’s helpful for folks to really consider how they feel about the efforts authorities are making with their situation. If they feel they’re getting clear answers, and authorities are actively helping them understand what happened, then it’s probably because authorities are doing a good job. I’ve handled hundreds of cases, and sometimes independent investigations simply confirm everything police already know. But if folks feel like the details don’t make sense, or if they’re left with unanswered questions that authorities aren’t helping them with, then it’s possible an independent investigation would show authorities are missing important details.
