March 10, 2026, one person was killed and eleven were injured after a firetruck versus van accident at 6:30 p.m. on Avenue S.
Preliminary information about the crash says that it happened at the intersection of Avenue S and West 11th Street, just off Stillwell.
It appears that a work van was going westbound along 11th Street. At Avenue S, authorities say an eastbound firetruck with lights and sirens on crashed into the van. The vehicles then crashed with an Access-A-Ride transit bus and a Lexus SUV.
Due to the collision, a 78-year-old man riding in the transit bus succumbed to fatal injuries. The Lexus driver and approximately ten others involved in the crash had reported injuries.
