Accident Report

May 6, 2026, Ferdous Jahan was injured due to a hit-and-run car accident at about 9:30 p.m. along State Highway 6.

According to authorities, 59-year-old Ferdous Jahan was traveling in an eastbound Hyundai Venue on S.H. 6 at Beechnut Street when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound vehicle of unknown make or model failed to appropriately control its speed. A collision consequently occurred between the unknown vehicle, the Venue, and an eastbound Honda Civic. The unknown vehicle allegedly fled the scene.

Jahan reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the wreck. It does not appear that anyone from the Civic was hurt. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

When it comes to hit-and-run accidents that happen late in the evening, it’s not uncommon for intoxication to have been a factor. The drivers who flee don’t want to get caught by the police in that state, so they don’t stick around. There is a chance, of course, that that isn’t what happened, here, but the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle would have to be tracked down, either way. If that hasn’t happened yet, then I hope the authorities have some additional information that they can release to the public. The hit-and-run vehicle and its driver will be more likely to be found when there are more people in the community aware. That is true even after months have passed since the accident actually took place. Hopefully the authorities and the community can work together in order to see that those who deserve it are held accountable.
