How Did This Accident Occur?

Police have issued a traffic citation in this crash, but that doesn’t mean the investigation into the crash should be over. Sometimes the first officers on the scene get it wrong, so it is important to gather facts to piece together what happened on U.S. 12.

Investigators will pore over evidence from the scene, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video of the crash. A qualified expert may be needed to conduct a forensic examination if authorities suspect a mechanical issue in one of the vehicles contributed to the crash.

I think people would look at this crash differently if the truck had a problem with its brakes, so it couldn’t stop before the crash, but we won’t know if that is what happened if no one looks into the possibility.
