Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Commercial truck wrecks are inherently challenging due both to the usual chaos of the crash scenes as well as all of the different possible contributing factors typical car accidents don’t often involve. I’ve had hundreds of commercial vehicle accident cases, many of which involved commercial drivers harmed due to other commercial vehicle drivers. They know as well as any experienced attorney all of the extenuating circumstances unique to commercial trucking that often goes unnoticed.
For example, crashes like this can happen due to things like employers demanding long hours, companies skipping routine maintenance, drivers who are inexperienced or poorly trained, companies that encourage cutting corners, companies that hire drivers with histories of reckless driving, etc. Authorities don’t often consider things beyond the crash scene itself, so these crucial details can easily slip through the cracks if there aren’t measures in place to catch them. That’s why I have to wonder what steps are being taken here to get answers, and whether there will be full accountability for any complicit negligent employers who may still be putting the public at risk.
