How Did This Accident Occur?

I certainly don’t know any more about this crash than anyone else, but I have been a part of literally hundreds of commercial vehicle accident investigations. One thing that concerns me is anytime I see bad weather involved in a crash. Sometimes, authorities will just chalk everything up to the weather conditions, and they might overlook other important possible factors.

For example, a proper investigation into a truck wreck like this should include vehicle inspections for potential defects. That means securing data from the trucks and having a well-equipped professional examine the vehicles closely before they’re destroyed or repaired. But if authorities just assume one of the trucks hydroplaned, for instance, they might drag their feet, and valuable evidence could be lost.

So, are steps being taken to give this crash a proper investigation? That all remains to be seen. If anyone saw what happened here or noticed something unusual when passing by the scene, tell me about it in the comments.
