Lancaster, CA — December 25, 2023, one person was killed and children were hurt after a big rig accident at around 6:00 p.m. along Challenger Way.
The California Highway Patrol told news outlets that the accident happened at the intersection of Challenger Way and Avenue E north of town.
It appears that the victims were inside a Kia Sorento when the accident happened. Right now, events leading up to the collision are unclear. Reports say only that the Kia ended up off-road, and the big rig appeared to have front-end damage. The cause of the crash remains unconfirmed.
Due to the collision, the driver of the sedan sustained fatal injuries. They weren’t identified. Two children in the Kia were taken from the scene for treatment. It’s unclear if anyone else was hurt. Investigations are ongoing.
