Crittenden County, AR — February 14, 2024, two people were killed as the result of an 18-wheeler accident at around 9:40 a.m. on Interstate 40.
Authorities said in preliminary reports that the incident took place along eastbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 268.

According to current information, an Arkansas State Police trooper had their cruiser along eastbound lanes of the interstate. Somehow, an 18-wheeler hit the cruiser, then ran off the side of the road. The 18-wheeler then hit the guardrail, overturned, and burst into flames.
Due to the accident, two people in the 18-wheeler sustained fatal injuries. The trooper apparently escaped injury. Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable.
