Accident Report
August 15, 2026, Everardo Delacruz and two others were injured after an alleged drunk driver accident at 9:40 p.m. on Highway 110.
According to initial reports on the crash, it happened in the area of TX-110 and Old New Harmony Road (County Road 46), just west of N. NW. Loop 323.
It appears that 35-year-old Everardo Delacruz and two children were in a Ram 1500 going northwest along the highway. A Nissan Titan was going eastbound when it reportedly disregarded a stop sign. As a result, the two vehicles crashed.
Authorities said that one of the kids in the Ram had serious injuries. Everardo Delacruz and the other child had apparently moderate injuries. Officials alleged that the Nissan driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time. They recommended multiple charges, including DWI.
Additional details remain unconfirmed.
How Did This Accident Occur?
If allegations here are true, drunk driving would certainly explain how a driver managed to run a stop sign. But whenever alcohol leads to a crash, the story rarely begins or ends at the crash scene. In my experience, it often traces back to a local alcohol provider.
Simply put, a lot of people who get drunk and cause a crash were drinking at a nearby establishment. If evidence shows the establishment broke the law and over-served that driver, then they could be responsible for doing so. Maybe that isn’t what happened here, but is it something authorities are looking into? That’s something that victims and families might like to know after a serious crash like this.
