Kerr County, TX — February 26, 2024, Evelia Vergara Urquiza was injured in a car accident shortly before 6:15 a.m. along Sidney Baker, S.H. 16.
According to authorities, 54-year-old Evelia Vergara Urquiza was traveling in a southbound Chrysler Town and Country minivan along State Highway 16 approaching the Hill Country Drive intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that an eastbound Audi on Hill Country Drive failed to yield the right of way, attempting a right turn onto southbound S.H. 16 with a red light from the traffic signal at an apparently unsafe time. this resulted in a collision between the Audi and the minivan. The crash caused the minivan to veer off of the right side of the roadway where it struck a tree before coming to a stop.
Urquiza incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. She was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
