Bastrop County, TX — November 30, 2025, Evan Chain was killed as the result of a car accident that took place around 6:20 a.m. along Highway 21.
According to officials, the incident took place at the intersection of TX-21 and Voss Parkway.
Investigators said that 20-year-old Evan Chain was in a Chevy Silverado going northeast along the roadway. The vehicle reportedly left its lane, and it crashed along the roadway. Officials said that Evan Chain died due to the accident.

Single-vehicle accidents can present unique challenges. Most often, the challenge is authorities feel they have other priorities to work on, so they move on without actually conducting a thorough investigation. This can allow crucial evidence, like road mapping, vehicle data, cellphone records, video footage, and other time-sensitive evidence to slip through the cracks.
If authorities here have been more thorough and can address all concerns and questions thoroughly, that would be good to see. But if this crash was like many I’ve handled that required more thorough independent investigations, it wouldn’t be all that unusual.
