Cameron County, TX — February 13, 2024, Eugene Connor was killed in a motorcycle versus car accident at approximately 2:10 p.m. along Farm to Market 1847.

According to authorities, 66-year-old Eugene Connor was traveling on a northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle behind a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on F.M. 1847 approaching the Mesquite Bean Drive intersection when the accident took place.

The pickup reportedly slowed in preparation of making a left turn onto westbound Mesquite Bean Drive. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, as the pickup slowed, the motorcycle collided with the back left corner of the pickup, throwing Connor forward and to the ground. He came to rest between the north and southbound lanes of the roadway. The motorcycle came to a stop north of the intersection in the shoulder on the west side of the road.

Connor incurred reportedly critical and life-threatening injuries as a result of the wreck. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, he was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of his injuries, having there been declared deceased. No other injuries have been reported.
