Accident Report
May 9, 2026, Ethan Wade, Terry Wade, Michelle Wade, and Evanna Caviel may have been injured in an alleged drunk driver accident on Laurent.
Crossroads Today published a report on the accident, which they say happened at around 11:13 p.m. at the intersection of North Laurent Street and East Red River Street. The report says that 20-year-old Ethan Wade was driving a vehicle with Terry Wade, Michelle Wade, and Evanna Caviel riding as passengers. In another vehicle, an alleged drunk driver crashed with them.
Right now, it’s unconfirmed if anyone had injuries due to the accident. The alleged drunk driver reportedly was arrested, but specific charges remain unconfirmed.
How Did This Accident Occur?
If the allegations are true, then it would seem likely that alcohol led to this accident. But as damning as that is, it may only tell part of the larger story. It may surprise people to learn that drunk drivers often have an accomplice who also needs to be held accountable. If a local bar or restaurant unlawfully over-served that driver, then they, too, may have consequences to face.
Simply put, it’s unlawful in Texas for alcohol providers to serve someone who is obviously intoxicated. Doing so exposes those establishments to potential legal consequences, including criminal investigations, responsibility for a resulting crash, and fines and license suspensions. But if all of the focus is entirely on the alleged drunk driver, those negligent establishments might fly under the radar. That allows them to continue business as usual, and more families are bound to be harmed in the future.
Currently, there are still a lot of unanswered questions about what happened here—including whether or not the people involved in the crash are okay. But if it’s true that alcohol was a factor, then it’s important those responsible for the crash face appropriate accountability for their actions regardless. Whether that’s just an individual reckless driver or a driver who had help from a negligent alcohol provider, that’s up to the evidence to say for sure.
