Bexar County, TX — May 22, 2024, Ernest Ortiz Jr. was injured in a motorcycle versus car accident at approximately 4:45 p.m. along Loop 1604.
According to authorities, 64-year-old Ernest Ortiz Jr. was traveling on a southbound Honda motorcycle on Applewhite Road at the Loop 1604 intersection when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that a northbound Ford Focus on Applewhite attempted a left turn onto Loop 1604 and was involved in a collision with the oncoming motorcycle. It is not readily apparent which vehicle had the right of way at the time off the accident, according to reports.
Ortiz suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
