Accident Report
June 19, 2026, Eric Boyd was killed and one person was injured due to a motorcycle accident at around 10:45 p.m. along Westpark Drive.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened in the area of the Woodchase Drive and Westpark Drive intersection.
According to officials, 25-year-old Eric Boyd was on a 2025 Honda CB600 motorcycle going westbound along Westpark. A 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee was making a turn from eastbound Westpark to Woodchase Drive. Doing so, the motorcycle crashed into the Jeep.
Eric Boyd reportedly died as a result of the crash. A passenger in the Jeep had unspecified injuries. Right now, additional details about the accident are unavailable.
How Did This Accident Occur?
This intersection appears to be controlled by a light, so it seems like this likely happened because a driver failed to yield while making a turn or because someone went through a red light. That in turn can involve things like distracted driving, alcohol, unsafe speeds, other reckless behavior, etc. What’s important going forward is to make sure investigations tell the whole story. A man lost his life, and he’s not able to give his side of the story. That means investigations should be able to dig into all kinds of possible factors, both common and uncommon, to ensure the evidence speaks for itself. Whether it’s authorities or independent professionals the family seeks out, my hope is investigators give this accident the attention it deserves so there can be some clear answers.
Did anyone witness the crash? Let me know in the comments if there’s any information the authorities left out of their statements.
