Comal County, TX — January 2, 2024, Emily Tolle was injured following a car accident at around 3:25 p.m. along Interstate 35.
According to officials, the crash took place along southbound lanes of I-35 in the area of F.M. 1102, just outside New Braunfels.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that 22-year-old Emily Tolle was in a Buick Enclave going along I-35. The vehicle somehow lost control, swerved into the barrier on the right, then veered left. The vehicle went off-road where it came to a stop on the median.
Tolle was apparently seriously injured in the accident. There were no other occupants in the vehicle, according to officials. Right now, the cause of the crash remains unconfirmed.

With single-vehicle wrecks, there’s always the concern that they may not be getting the attention they deserve. Authorities rarely prioritize them, so things like mechanical issues, medical conditions, road defects, and other complex possible factors tend to slip through the cracks. Inevitably, that leads to situation where victims are blamed for something they couldn’t avoid. I certainly can’t say if this is one of those situations, but I would discourage anyone from drawing conclusions here until the evidence can speak for itself.
