Emily Jones, 2 Injured in Car Accident in Liberty County, TX

Liberty County, TX — April 14, 2024, Emily Jones and two others were injured following a car accident at around midnight on FM 1960.

According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of County Road 612, between Liberty and Lake Houston.

Investigators said that 24-year-old Emily Jones and two others were in a Subaru Legacy going eastbound along FM 1960. The vehicle apparently traveled off the side of the road. It then crashed and overturned.

Emily Jones was seriously injured in the crash, as was a second passenger in the vehicle. The driver had non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, additional details surrounding the crash are unconfirmed.

How fast was the vehicle going? Are there issues with this intersection? Did they inspect the vehicle for defects? Have cellphone records and vehicle data been preserved? Is there any camera footage of the crash? Likely or not, a proper accident reconstruction will at least be able to rule out extenuating circumstances. This gives victims the best opportunity possible to tell their side of the story. Whether authorities alone provided that kind of insight remains to be seen.
