Mathews County, VA — August 1, 2026, Elizabeth Bush was killed in a truck accident at about 1:15 p.m. on New Point Comfort Highway south of Susan.
Authorities said a 2002 Ford F-250 was struck by a trailer that came loose from a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.
Ford driver Elizabeth Bush, 71, of New Point died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to authorities.
The Chevrolet driver, who was not hurt, was cited for using an uninspected trailer and failure to secure load, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Mathews County crash at this time.
