How Did This Accident Occur?
It’s not clear at this time what caused this crash. Was the driver distracted or fatigued? Did she swerve to avoid another vehicle or an object in the road? Did the Ford have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism? These questions must be considered as investigators work to reconstruct this accident.
Authorities usually rely on vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and available video footage to piece together events leading to a crash, while cell phone records could show what the driver was doing at the time. They likely will have to turn to an outside expert if investigators suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this accident.
Most law enforcement agencies do not have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience, but the Ford driver and her family deserve to know as much as possible about this crash.
