Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of the main challenges with a crash like is that the victim isn’t here to give their side of the story. When that happens, it’s reasonable for families to be concerned about who’s going to speak on the victim’s behalf. That’s why gathering evidence needs to be a priority.
Instead of jumping to conclusions, investigators should consider the crash from all possible angles. That way, they can definitely rule out or otherwise confirm even unusual potential factors, like vehicle defects or some sort of emergency. If authorities are doing that here, that would be good to know. In my experience, though, it’s not prudent to take that for granted.
