July 28, 2026, a child was injured following an e-bike versus semi-truck accident at 8:40 a.m. along Columbia Road.
Initial statements about the accident say that the crash happened in the area of the Columbia Road and Westwood Road intersection.
Reports say that a child was riding an e-bike in the area while a semi-truck was going southbound along Columbia. It’s said that the truck was driving “aggressively” prior to striking the child on the bike. Due to that collision, the child sustained serious injuries.

As such, I hope authorities are digging into this driver’s history as well as their actions leading up to the accident. Holding someone accountable for an accident is obviously important. But if there was a history of reckless behavior that an employer should have addressed, then failing to address it may have been a factor in allowing this accident to occur.
