How Did This Accident Occur?
It is not clear at this point if the truck driver took any precautions before trying to back across Amsler Road. Was he working with a spotter? Did he do anything to warn upcoming vehicles that he was blocking the road? As for the motorcyclist, did he have enough time to stop before this crash, or did his motorcycle have an issue with its brakes? Authorities must consider these questions as they investigate this crash.
Physical evidence, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage should help authorities reconstruct this accident, but investigators also should look into the trucking company, its hiring practices and its safety policies.
