Authorities have described the suspect vehicle as a four-door, white pickup with a black toolbox and amber lights on the side mirrors. The vehicle could have front-end damage, as well. Information like this is often a vital step in catching a runaway driver. Someone can usually connect the dots and help authorities ID someone, that way the victim’s loved ones can finally get some closure.
Austin, TX — July 30, 2024, a pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run car accident shortly before 1:00 a.m. along William Cannon Drive.
According to authorities, a man was on foot in the vicinity of the William Cannon Drive and Cooper Lane intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle. The vehicle reportedly fled the scene, the person(s) inside failing to stop and render aid of any sort to the victim. The pedestrian suffered critical injuries, according to reports; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. However, he was ultimately unable to overcome the extent of his injuries, having later been declared deceased.
