Magna, UT — August 30, 2024, one person was killed following a car versus dump truck accident that occurred along Interstate Highway 80.
According to authorities, the accident took place on I.H. 80 in the vicinity east of State Highway 202.
Preliminary reports state that a Mazda that had been traveling along the interstate experienced a tire blowout, leading to a loss of control. The Mazda was reportedly involved in a collision with a dump truck. The truck then swerved off of the side of the roadway, overturning and rolling down an embankment where it eventually became fully engulfed in flames. The person who had been behind the wheel of the dump truck suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck, according to reports.
