Englewood East, FL — March 11, 2024, a driver was killed following a dump truck accident at around 2:50 p.m. along South McCall Road.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said they were called to the intersection of South McCall Road and Sunnybrook Boulevard.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the victim was in a pickup truck traveling through the intersection. While doing so, it’s alleged that a dump truck ran a red light on westbound McCall, and it crashed into the pickup, running over the top of it.
As a result of the collision, the pickup driver died. Reports have not yet identified the victim. It’s unclear right now if there were any other injuries due to the crash. Factors leading up to the crash are still under investigation.
