Harris County, TX — December 12, 2025, a woman was injured following an alleged drunk driver accident before midnight along Fry Road.

According to initial details about the accident, it happened at the intersection of Fry Road and Saum Road, west of Houston in the Westlake area.

Investigators said that a 52-year-old woman was in a BMW going northbound on Fry Road at the time. A Ford was going eastbound when it reportedly disregarded the light and crashed into the BMW. The woman in the BMW reportedly was seriously injured.

Authorities allege that the Ford driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time. They recommended charges.

If it’s true that alcohol contributed to this accident, simply recommending charges for the alleged drunk driver may not be the end of the story. It’s important to know where that alcohol from. Bars and other alcohol providers can be responsible for contributing to accidents if they unlawfully over-served the drunk driver. Too often, though, authorities miss this. They get tunnel vision that makes their efforts begin and end at the crash scene. For victims to see a proper resolution though, the investigations have to go beyond the surface and ensure that all parties responsible for the accident face appropriate consequences.
