Edinburg, TX — May 18, 2024, A six year old child died in a drowning accident at an apartment pool off Freddy Gonzalez Drive around 5:00 P.M.
According to official reports, police arrived on the scene to an apartment complex off the corner of the West Freddy Gonzalez Drive and South Sugar Road intersection. There, they found a young child unresponsive in the apartment pool, and began life saving measures, before they were joined on the scene by EMS.
The child was taken to an area hospital for treatment, however the child succumbed to their injuries the following day. The child’s identity has not been released to the public.
The circumstances surrounding this fatal accident have yet to be made publicly available by the authorities.
