Saginaw, TX — August 30, 2024, Don Eric Bills was killed as the result of a workplace fatality accident that happened in the Saginaw area.

There isn’t a lot of information available about this accident right now, but work fatalities in Texas are almost always uniquely challenging. We have the most complex work fatality laws of any other state in the country. Despite what many think, there isn’t always an automatic process for getting a family the benefits they need after an accident like this. As such, families are sometimes tasked with seeking out a fair resolution with an employer who’s likely to prioritize their own needs over those of a worker’s loved ones. That takes a lot of evidence and legal strategizing, which is why it’s generally best to take steps as early as possible to work toward that conclusion. Waiting around for OSHA or other officials is only going to risk letting important information slip through the cracks.
