Accident Report

August 27, 2026, a child was injured following a car versus dirt bike accident at around 9:00 p.m. along Pinto Point Drive.

Preliminary information about the accident says that the crash happened in a neighborhood north of Houston off Gosling Road and Creekside Forest Drive.

Officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said that a 9-year-old child was operating an electric dirt bike at the time along Pinto Point Drive. While doing so, the bike and a car crossed paths. The vehicles then collided, injuring the child.

Latest reports say the child is stable. Details regarding the cause of the crash and if there will be citations or charges are unavailable right now.

How Did This Accident Occur?

In my experience, people tend to jump to conclusions when accidents like this happen. They assume the kid on the smaller vehicle must have made some kind of mistake or that the driver had no way of avoiding the crash. That might be true—frankly, it’s pretty common. But that’s no excuse for jumping to conclusions, and I hope authorities are investigating this incident from all angles. It might surprise folks how often authorities just settle on their “gut” rather than focusing on gathering evidence. If this is one of those times, hopefully it becomes apparently early so the family can bring in more thorough independent investigators.
