How Did This Accident Occur?
People generally see a single-vehicle crash early in the morning and just assume the driver must have done something wrong. It is true that a lot of these crashes involve things like distraction or driving while fatigued. That said, I’ve investigated enough car accidents to consider possibilities that drivers can’t always avoid.
For example, the driver may have hit something in the road, like a pot hole, a nail, or an object that fell of the back of a pickup. These details don’t always come out in the preliminary reports. In fact, authorities sometimes jump to conclusions if they don’t dedicate enough time and effort to conducting a proper accident reconstruction. Maybe they’ve been more thorough here, but it’s important to wait for all the facts before jumping to conclusions.
Do you think something unusual could have happened here, or do you think that’s just being overly skeptical? Let me hear your thoughts in the comments.
