Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

While the cause of the accident isn’t clear, work accidents are always complex in Texas. In fact, Texas work accident law is more complex than in any other state in the country. People tend to assume that workers’ comp will take care of everything. In Texas, though, employers are not required to subscribe to workers’ comp, which means there is not always a guarantee that an injured worker will get the help they need without pursuing it. It’s important victims and families are aware of these potential hurdles so they can ensure they’re prepared to overcome them if necessary.
