A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2013 Ford F-150 was heading northwest when it collided with a 2012 Hyundai Tucson while turning left onto April Lane.
Hyundai driver Destiney Medina, 19, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.
The Ford driver, who was not hurt, was charged with intoxication assault after the crash, the report states.

How Did This Accident Occur?
I expect authorities to reconstruct this crash by gathering physical evidence, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage. but investigators should go beyond the scene of the accident if blood tests confirm the Ford driver was intoxicated. The lingering question is where had he been drinking before the crash?
An alcohol provider, like a bar or restaurant, could share responsibility for this crash under Texas law if there is evidence that shows the Ford driver was served while he was obviously intoxicated. I’m not saying that is what happened in this instance, but it is worth looking into so the injured driver and her family know who may have played a role in this crash.
