Dallas, TX — October 11, 2024, Derrick Mitchell was injured in a motorcycle versus car accident at about 11:30 p.m. along Greenville Avenue.
According to authorities, 50-year-old Derrick Mitchell was traveling on a northbound Yamaha motorcycle on Greenville Avenue approaching the Marquita Avenue intersection behind a Chevrolet Tahoe when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Tahoe attempted a U-turn at the intersection at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of the motorcycle and the front-left side of the Tahoe.
Mitchell reportedly incurred serious injuries as a result of the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
