Harris County, TX — March 8, 2024, one person was killed while Dennis Kubiak and two others were injured in a car accident at about 3:20 p.m. along Garrett Road..
According to authorities, a Toyota Scion occupied by a 36-year-old woman was traveling westbound behind a Ford-250 occupied by a man and a woman—both age 48—on Garrett Road in the vicinity east of the Timber Forest Drive intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the Scion attempted a pass on the left at an unsafe time, entering the eastbound lane of the roadway. This resulted in a head on collision between the Scion and an oncoming Volkswagen Jetta occupied by 34-year-old Dennis Kubiak Jr. The collision caused the Jetta to veer left, leading to a collision between the left side of the Jetta and the left side of the pickup truck.
The woman from the Scion incurred critical injuries as a result of the wreck. Kubiak sustained suspected severe injuries, and the two people from the Jetta suffered apparently minor injuries, as well. All four victims were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. The woman from the Scion, however, was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of her injuries and was later declared deceased.
