Details say that 67-year-old Debra Loera was a passenger in a Dodge Gran Caravan going along I-35. A Toyota Rav4 was going the same direction. Due to reasons unclear right now, the vehicles collided.

Debra Loera reportedly had serious injuries due to the crash. A 37-year-old woman riding in the Toyota had apparently moderate injuries. No further information is available at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

When vehicles going the same direction on the interstate collide, it’s usually something like distracted driving, unsafe speeds, or following too closely. That’s generally where accident reconstructions will begin their search. Of course, it’s important to consider less common factors, as well. Even something like a defect with a vehicle’s lane assistance feature needs to be examined. For one, it helps ensure nothing unusual slips through the cracks. Two, it helps victims and families put together as solid a story as possible to get a proper resolution. That might mean bring in independent professionals who will be more thorough than authorities, but the end goal should be having as much evidence as possible tell the story.
