Port Arthur, TX — March 21, 2025, Deborah Henton was killed and one was injured following a car accident at around 10:30 p.m. along Highway 87.

People often think pedestrian accidents are open-and-shut, but that’s not always true. It’s important to consider all possible factors, if only to rule out anything unusual. What was visibility like? Is there missing signage or broken traffic signals? Is this area inherently dangerous for pedestrians? Was distracted driving or alcohol a factor? Likely or not, these questions can prove vital in making sure the victim’s loved ones are getting the whole story. That alone can make a world of difference, even if there’s nothing unusual that needs more attention.
