Accident Report
Around June 24, 2026, one person was killed as the result of a work accident that happened along Highway 95.
Initial statements in an OSHA inspection detail lists “Dcomm, Inc.” as the employer involved in the accident and classified the work as “Eletrical Contractors.” It reportedly happened at 1818 TX-95 in Bastrop, which matches the address for Sunrise Farm north of Bastrop.
Right now, details about the accident are unavailable. An emphasis of “Fall” was included in the report. One employee sustained fatal injuries. It’s unclear at this time if OSHA is considering any penalties. Investigations appear to be ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
If this accident involved a fall, that could involve a lot of different factors. Most often, I see falls happen when workers don’t have proper fall protection on. Sometimes, their supervisors don’t enforce proper safety procedures. Some workers just aren’t given the equipment they need to do their job safely. Others are given shoddy, worn down equipment that fails due to poor condition. I even had a case once where a manager and another employee got into an actual fistfight, fell into a boom lift’s controls, dumping another employee out of the lifted bucket.
At the end of the day, knowing the full story means gathering all the facts. As much as people assume that’s what OSHA does, they tend to focus on their own priorities. The needs of the worker’s family might take a backseat unless there are independent professionals working directly to get them the answers they deserve. It wouldn’t be unusual if that proved necessary here, as well.
