Crockett County, TX — April 10, 2023, Dayton Scott was killed as the result of a work accident that happened around 3:30 p.m. along Highway 163.
Preliminary information about the fatal accident reported by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration says that it happened approximately 7 miles north of Ozona.
Investigators said that 38-year-old Dayton Scott and a co-worker were operating a truck doing sand line work. While doing so, part of the truck apparently came into contact with a power line, shocking Scott and the other worker. While Scott’s co-worker apparently went to the hospital, Scott ultimately died as a result of the accident.
The OSHA summary listed two alleged serious citations and listed a recommended penalty of $4,688. Additional details about the accident are unavailable right now.
