Bee County, TX — September 25, 2024, David Villagran Jr. was killed due to a car accident at around 8:30 p.m. on US Highway 59.
Investigators said that the accident happened near Presa Street, west of Beeville.
According to officials, 47-year-old David Villagran Jr. was on foot at the time. While doing so, an 18-wheeler struck Villagran. David Villagran was killed as a result.
Authorities did not release any additional details about the accident.

People often overlook pedestrian accidents and assume they’re all straight forward. Either the pedestrian was in a crosswalk, or they weren’t. The reality is things are rarely so simple. Investigations need to focus on how avoidable the accident was. If the driver had no way of seeing and avoiding the victim, it wouldn’t be reasonable for them to face consequences. But if evidence shows a prudent professional truck driver could have avoided the victim, it would raise serious red flags. Are there any such red flags authorities are looking into here?
