July 18, 2026, David Quiroz was injured following a car accident that happened at around 3:00 p.m. along Interstate 35.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash happened along northbound lanes of the interstate near Hesters Crossing Road.
It appears that 46-year-old David Quiroz was in a Ram 1500 going along I-35. An 18-year-old in a BMW was going the same direction when that vehicle crashed into the back of the Ram.

Let me explain why I ask that.
In my experience, when a car rear-ends a pickup, and one person suffers serious injuries, it’s almost always the driver of the car. Not only was the opposite true here, but reports claim the BMW driver didn’t have any injuries at all. So how exactly was the pickup driver seriously injured here? Did their seatbelt not lock? Did their airbag not go off? Was there something wrong with their seat, leading to a seatback failure?
It’s possible that a careful inspection of the vehicle will show nothing unusual, and this was just one of those rare exceptions where the driver of the larger vehicle ended up worse off than the driver of the smaller one. That said, when there’s something unusual like this following a serious car accident, it’s crucial to give it careful attention so nothing important slips through the cracks.
