Harris County, TX — May 26, 2024, David Gutierrez was injured as the result of a hit-and-run accident at around 11:30 p.m. at Old Bammel Road.
Authorities said in their statements that the crash happened in the area of Old Bammel Road and the North Freeway service road.
According to investigations, 28-year-old David Gutierrez was in a Toyota Corolla going southbound along I-45. Passing Old Bammel, authorities say that another vehicle apparently pulled out of a business, and the vehicles collided. Gutierrez’s vehicle overturned as a result. The other vehicle fled the scene. Gutierrez reportedly had serious injuries due to the crash.

Right now, there hasn’t been any word on whether authorities identified the runaway driver. If they keep putting details out to the public, that could to ensure they find someone if they haven’t already. Hit-and-runs are often brought to a close because someone in the community connects the dots and comes forward. That could be a neighbor, a co-worker, an acquaintance, or even a family member. Doing that can help authorities see there are consequences for the driver fleeing and for whatever reason they didn’t want to speak to authorities in the first place.
