Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

I have to wonder what kind of investigation this crash has received from authorities. It often surprises people how often police will simply look for someone to blame, then move on. Getting answers after a serious crash is about more than that.

There has to be consideration for even unlikely or possibly even unavoidable factors that may have contributed to the crash. Mechanical issues, road hazards, people unlawfully over-served by an alcohol provider, defective tires, medical conditions—these things happen. That’s why it’s important for victims and families to feel confident they’re not being left with unanswered questions. I don’t see any reason right now to be confident authorities have told the whole story here.
