An investigation is underway into an accident that took the life of 41-year-old Darrell Sheriff at around 10:30 A.M. at the AJ Materials facility. According to official reports, Sheriff was working on a truck that was carrying hot asphalt when for unknown reasons, the tailgate opened and it began covering Sheriff.
The load buried him, and when first responders arrived on the scene they declared Sheriff deceased. This accident remains under investigation, however authorities are reportedly declaring this an accident.
